Time tool
Sleep Calculator
Estimate possible times to go to bed or wake up using approximate sleep cycles. The calculator uses customizable sleep cycles, a fall-asleep buffer, and broad age-based reference ranges for general planning.

Sleep Calculator
Estimate possible bedtimes or wake-up times using approximate sleep cycles and a fall-asleep buffer.
General reference range: 7-9 hours per night for many adults.
The labels below compare cycle estimates with this broad public-health reference range. They are not a personal recommendation.
Important note
These times are general planning estimates, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Sleep needs and sleep cycle lengths vary by person. If you have ongoing insomnia, severe daytime sleepiness, breathing problems during sleep, or health concerns, consult a qualified health professional.

The calculator assumes approximate 90-minute cycles for convenience. It does not measure your actual sleep stages and should not be used to manage a medical condition.
How the Sleep Calculator Works
Many sleep-cycle calculators estimate sleep in 90-minute blocks. This is only a rough planning model. If you know when you need to wake up, this tool counts backward by full cycles and includes time to fall asleep. If you know when you plan to go to bed, or if you want to use the current time, it counts forward by full cycles.
suggested time = target time +/- fall asleep buffer +/- 90-minute cycles
Health Disclaimer
This sleep calculator is for general information, education, and routine schedule planning only. It is not medical advice and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or a personal sleep plan. Sleep duration needs and sleep cycle timing vary. FAQ
How does this sleep calculator work?
It uses approximate sleep cycles, subtracts or adds a fall-asleep buffer, and compares the estimated sleep duration with a broad age-based reference range.
Is a 90-minute sleep cycle exact?
No. A 90-minute cycle is a common estimate. Real sleep cycles can vary by person, age, health, stress, and the night.
Is this sleep calculator medical advice?
No. This tool is for general planning and education only. It does not diagnose, treat, or manage sleep problems.
How many sleep cycles should I aim for?
Many adults plan around 4 to 6 full cycles, or about 6 to 9 hours of sleep, but personal sleep needs vary.
What does the age reference label mean?
It is a broad public-health reference range, not a personal recommendation. It only helps compare the estimated duration with common sleep-duration ranges.
