What is a byte?
A byte is a unit of digital information conventionally made of eight bits. Storage prefixes may be decimal (KB) or binary (KiB).
1 byte = 8 bits; 1 decimal kilobyte = 1,000 bytes; 1 kibibyte = 1,024 bytes
