Multiplication Chart for Students
Multiplication is repeated addition. A multiplication chart helps students see patterns, memorize facts, and check answers quickly.
Key ideas
- Multiplication can be read as groups of a number.
- The order can change, but the product stays the same: 3 x 4 = 4 x 3.
- Facts for 2, 5, and 10 are good starting points.
- Use known facts to solve harder facts.
Times Table Patterns

| 2 times table | Counts by 2 | 2, 4, 6, 8 |
| 5 times table | Ends in 0 or 5 | 5, 10, 15, 20 |
| 10 times table | Add a zero for whole numbers | 7 x 10 = 70 |
| Square facts | Same number multiplied by itself | 6 x 6 = 36 |
